This year we were offered their help again. This is called the Catholic Heart Workshop and we had two adults and 4 high school students who worked together.

I must apologize for the quality of the pictures! It was great fun having them here and they did so much to improve my world! You know when you get older, its harder to do things and even harder to find people you can pay to do things. But to get this wonderful group at no cost, who THANK you for allowing them to come and help, that is just one of God's special blessings.
Here is what they did to my over grown back yard.
This is what it looked like when they walked into it.

We now have a lots bigger back yard! Mary loves flowers so she made several flower beds and re-did our big one in front. Next time I will have some more pictures for you of that.
Then they cleaned out our garage, things from three families that just had to go, and now that looks wonderful too. I can plan a garage sale and get rid of some excess furniture. They hauled off all the tree cuttings, and somehow talked the trashman into taking everything including two old televisions, paper, plastics, all that was there. Its all gone and more than wonderful to me.
So my thanks are abundant to Mary and Peter for leading these 4 hard working kids, and they seemed to have fun while they worked. They were amazing. I also need to thank Mahube agency and
Catholic Heart Workshop for all that they did to make things easier for me. Everybody my age should be so lucky!
Stella had a wonderful time with all six too!
Cheers and hugs all around,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
Jo, what a kind and wonderful thing to do! In my experience when I've helped people out, I've had a great time doing it, and got more from it than those we were helping, I've a feeling those that helped you feel the same way!!
ReplyDeleteoh, i LOVE this! how very sweet of them to get rid of all that old clutter and clean up the yard, too!
ReplyDeleteWOW what a MAJOR difference. THAT is so wonderful for YOU and OF THEM. We never hear the GOOD thingys that Kidlets do... just the few bad apples that get all the attention.
ReplyDeleteBRAVO to those teens!!!
How kind and what a great help they were. Bravo to them we say. Have a super Saturday and enjoy all that new space.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh, that is just AMAZIN'!!! There is a special place in heaven for peeps like this!! I'm so glads that you found them, and they found you. {{{{hugs}}}}} to them all!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
Knowing that people like this still exist in the world fills the WDA with hope! What a wonderful thing for them to do and we ask the Universe to bless them for their efforts. Especially glad they could help with tasks that were too big for your family to handle on your own.
ReplyDeleteStella, you would be a wonderful accent to our whiteness in the Army! But you might want to rethink your desire to join us after reading about last night's storm!
What a wonderful group of helpers! Your yard looks great. We can't wait to see the rest!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Otto

Can they come to Mesa, Az? :)
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful. Well done that lovely bunch of good-hearted young folk. If they ever fancied a trip to Nottingham...
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Gail (and Bertie).
hello stella its dennis the vizsla dog hay those yungsters do gud wurk!!! dada cud yooze sum of them heer i think!!! ok bye
ReplyDeleteSo glad they came back. My house still needs painting, even more than it did last year. Guess we're going to have to drag out the brushes and ladders and do it ourselves.
ReplyDeleteHow great is that!!! Some good friends of our provided food and shelter last week to part of a similar group that did volunteer work in our community.
ReplyDeleteAs to a new pup Mrs. T. say yes. I'm thinking next spring might be better timing for a pup given house breaking is more of a challenge in our cold winters...:)
I do remember them from last year. How wonderful that they returned this year. This is such a great program. I'm curious if it is nationwide program as I have a few relatives that could use help as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Pip:
ReplyDeleteYou can find out more about this very large group (all over the US)by going to http://www.heartworkcamp.com/ . They are already planning for 2014, so be sure and check that page and just contact any one that you think can answer your questions. Hope you can work something out for your family members.
Cheersies,
Stella
