Why?

Once again, good friends, our hearts are breaking over the senseless murder of beautiful young children in a elementary school.

Today was a day I never even turned the television on, no news came into my life until tonight.  It is almost unbearable.

20 small children, six adults to mourn this Christmas.  I can't even begin to guess why?

This prayer chain came from The Chronicles of Woos and Kathie B.  Its all I can do at this time.  There is nothing else to do except repeat why, why, why over and over again.

  2. And I repeat "Why, why, why". Horrific.

Somehow, some way, there must be a way to make events like today's stop happening.

  4. It all seems so unreal to me. I look at my little grandchildren and can't even fathom how anyone could do that. So very sad and tragic.

  5. We will never understand and that is the frightening thing. So much anger and aggression and violence. How can humans be capable of that...AND the Cathedral of Notre Dam or "Quiet Afternoon In The Garden Of Montgeron" or "The Planets" or the relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy?

  6. This is a day that reminds us to give those we care about a hug for no special reason. So many questions with no answers.

  9. Thank you. I am just sick over this. And very angry that it keeps happening over and over again. All the politicians talk and talk when this happens and then conveniently never speak of it again. Sometimes I just hate this country. And I'm so sorry for saying that. Incredibly sad for those families and those beautiful children who did NOTHING to deserve this. Why can't these nuts kill themselves first instead of taking people with them. Such cowards.

  10. Why indeed. For Scots, this dreadful news brought back memories of 1996, when a gunman entered a primary school in the quiet town of Dunblane and killed 16 young schoolchildren. One of the pupils at the school - although not, I think, in the class attacked - was tennis star Andy Murray. When I posted a blog about visiting Andy Murray's hometown a couple of months ago, I deliberately did not mention the massacre, as I felt Dunblane deserved to be known for something more positive. I can only hope that in years to come, Newton, Connecticut will be able to look beyond this unspeakable event.
    All the best,
    Gail.

  11. No doubt in part not understandable but that does not mean there is nothing that can be done to make it less likely from happening over and over again. It requires individual courage and a national will to end the massacres. And national leadership from Mr. Obama and Congress, including at least some of the Republican ideologues...

  12. We will never understand how anyone could do this.

We stopped by to thank you for your kind words of sympathy in the loss of our Joey.

  15. I got a text from my husband about it, or I would have had no idea why someone posted on the blog asking if I was okay. They knew I taught school, but not exactly where. There is no understanding why, not really. I could say a lot of things about what I think of the whole situation, but I will simply say that I hope that something positive comes out of it. There are conversations that need to happen in our society, and I hope that this tragedy will bring those around. Our hearts really go out to the families touched by this horrible event.
