A Few of my Favorite Things!

A computer tech told me I had to get rid of some pictures, either toss them, or put them on a disc or whatever.  But how can I?  I love all my pictures, old pics, new pics, long ago people, new people. . .

  1. Put them on a CD disc, then you'll always have them. :)

  2. awww! you are a doll! nice to SEE you, too!!!

i say, buy yourself a separate hard drive - it can be plugged into your pc using a USB cable connection. that gives you a separate storage place that is not part of your computer but is very easily linked to it by simply plugging it into one of your USB ports. i have one and use it to store all my photos once i've posted them on my blog.

or you can use the CD method where you pop in a CD and can copy all your 'old' photo files to it for safe keeping. it is cheaper, too.

  3. WE have EVERY PICTURE on CD Discs. That way we can even put them in the DVD Player and show them on the BIG TV Screen. Then when we WANT them we just put a Disc in the computer and they can be gotten to THAT way... It DOES save a LOT of Computer Memory. AND the pics are SAFE.. if your computer CRASHES... and you don't have an EXTERNAL Hard Drive with them Saved on... you WILL LOSE them ... FOREVER. We Do have an External H.D. and all of our Pics are Safely on THERE also. So we have them backed up TWO different Ways. You are SO RIGHT pictures are too precious to lose.

  4. This reminds me that I need to save pics to a CD this weekend. I also have a bunch of knitting patterns to save to disc. Guess I'll be playing lots of solitaire while they load.

  5. Mom is needing to move her pics to an external hard drive too - she keeps getting those warnings that her laptop is almost out of space:(

  9. We loved seeing those. We are going to put all our ones of Pippin which are on paper to get digitalised and then we will put them all on a memory stick for safe keeping as well as on our computer. Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  11. I finally had to go to one of those little things that cost $89 and hold about a million photos. I figure I don't have enough time left in life to fill it completely so I'm in good shape. :))

  14. Nice collection of pics, Jo. Like others have commented, I have a separate external hard drive (two of them actually) where I have backed up my photos. I am saving them all. I couldn't get rid of them either. Every trip I make home I run a back up. I need to move some off of my current computer when I am home at Christmas to make room for more!! :-)

If you want any help, let me know and I'll be glad to help when I come back after the holidays.

  16. Mum needs to do this too, or get a new pc and have the other for storage. We cannot do anything on it at the moment! We use TND's computer but Mum really likes to use hers as it up with my rabbit siblings. Let us know what you decide and maybe we can do the same!
