Bashful Stella

This is Jo to tell you a story about Stella, who needs some help, friends-wise.

Do you remember when I took a fuzzy picture of what I thought was a Vizsla dog in our back door neighbor's yard?  Dennis's Dad was mad at him and I thought maybe he had been sold to our neighbor.

It isn't Dennis, thank DOG, but it is a nice dog who wants to play and make friends with Stella.  But she is Bashful and he is Bold.

Bashful Stella

Bold Big Guy
Tonight when she went outside, Bold Guy, came tearing down from his house, running in circles, and Stella did a little too, but then she ran for our house.  It seemed like it was just too much for her.  Bold Guy waited a while and then gave up, went back in his house.

So what do we do, Friends, these dogs have two fences between them, but they both might want to be friends if one didn't seem so scared?

I am sure that Stella has not forgotten Tsar, but it would still be good for her to romp with this handsome guy, don't you think?

We will be hoping for your advice and also we all want to wish you a very happy long weekend.  It might even cool off for us!

KB's beautiful black lab R has been sick and we are eager to hear he is well soon.  Lets remember to wish the boy well, and hope it isn't serious.

Cheers and hugs,

Jo, Stella and Zkhat whose sign says

  1. Maybe Stella just needs to gain some confidence with Bold Guy. Could you try taking some walks together? It would be so nice to have a neighbor pal.

Have a good weekend. We finally got rain.

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  2. stella is such a pretty girl. vizsla's are known to be very in-your-face kinda dogs. they're not bashful at all. but i don't think you can force stella to be friends with him. :(

  3. I hope Stella will feel more confident to play a little with Bold Guy. It is great to have a friend to have fun with.
    Take care
    Kisses and hugs

  4. Jo, I'n not sure I have any useful experience to offer here, and neither of my dogs has known the meaning of the word bashful. But Bertie is considering responding to Stella's kind invitation to come and visit her in Minnesota (strictly on condition that the word 'squirty' is never used in association with his name, of course) and he will give her a master class in being not-bashful, no matter the size and demeanour of the other dog.
    Cheers, Gail.

  5. HI Jo, not sure about this either. Stella is always a little flighty when she meets other dogs for the first time and sometimes yaps and runs away. She is fine with quiet dogs but not to good with 'in your face' kinds of dogs. Maybe if you sat near your fence with Bold Guy on his side and Stella might stay near you and have a good old look at him and realise he's a good guy. No worries, and love, Carol (and Stella and Rory)

  6. We are sure in time Stella and Bold Guy will be friends. Have a great Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  7. He is a handsome dude. I'd go for it. And put a little Liz Claiborne behind her ears.

  8. "The Odd Couple" come to mind. Not as in strange, as in different.

  9. My thought is to let them meet face to face, but if they can both be on a leash just in case, Bold Guy gets to be too much and Stella needs to get safely away--But who knows it may just work out that they could be great friends!! paws crossed, let us know!

  10. We think a walk together, side by side, might be just the thing.
